It has been many years since the bands held a joint concert and both bands were excited by the prospect of coming together as one organisation.

It has been many years since the bands held a joint concert and both bands were excited by the prospect of coming together as one organisation. The venue for the event was St Hilda's church in Ashford, a lovely building well known to the bands as a past venue.

Each band played a set of pieces individually in each half before joining together at the end as a combined force of over 50 musicians to play three joint pieces, finishing with the Toccata and Fugue by Bach, which nearly raised the roof!

Both bands featured some of their talented soloists and treated the audience to music depicting the life of Gatsby, a Celtic journey, alongside a stroll down The Boardwalk and examining The Bare Necessities from the Disney favourite of The Jungle Book.

The evening was a great success and will definitely be repeated next year!
